How to Get the Look of this Most-Pinned Design Photo

When it comes to inspiration, there are some designs that seems to appeal to the masses. They are timeless, classic, universally beautiful. One of those designs is this ornamental doorway jamb. This photo may look familiar to you. It’s on our website, in our literature, and has also been posted and reposted hundreds of times on social media. It is one of the designs we get regular calls about from people who are trying to recreate the look.

The great thing about this design is that it is highly adaptable and scalable. One client who asked for our assistance had a pair of openings facing each other across a larger Foyer. The openings were important thresholds into the formal dining and living areas, and they needed us to change the arch into a straight horizontal header. They also had already picked out crown moulding for the top of the header and we incorporated that into the design. Here are the beautiful results, customized by White River’s Design Services.
