A medallion does for a light fixture what a frame does for a painting — it gives the eye a place to land, and the ceiling a reason to be looked at.

Dimensions & Fit

MED1069-D 26-3/4″ 3-5/8″ 1-1/8″ up to 3-5/8″ Two

"Fits canopy" is the largest fixture canopy the center opening will clear. The center opening can be enlarged on site with a jigsaw or hole saw. Projection is how far the medallion stands off the ceiling.

Why High-Density Urethane

Hand-Carved Detail, Cast Weight

Hand-Carved Master

Every pattern begins as a hand-carved original modeled on historical designs. That master becomes the mold, so the relief is deep and the lines are sharp.

High-Density, Not Vacuum-Formed

Cast solid in high-density urethane foam. It reads like plaster and holds a fastener — unlike thin vacuum-formed "plastic" medallions.

Factory Primed

Arrives primed. Paint to match the ceiling, contrast it, or gild the relief.

Cuts with Woodworking Tools

Enlarge the center for a fan canopy or electrical box with a jigsaw or hole saw. Lightweight enough for one person to hang.

Installation

Step by Step

1

Kill the Power

Switch off the circuit at the breaker before touching the fixture or box.

2

Size the Opening

Confirm the fixture canopy clears the center opening. Enlarge with a hole saw if needed; the canopy hides the cut.

3

Dry-Fit & Mark

Hold the medallion to the ceiling, center it on the box, and pencil the outline.

4

Adhesive on the Back

Run construction adhesive around the back near the edge and around the center. Adhesive carries the weight.

5

Fasten Through the Relief

Press up, then set two to four finish screws through low points in the pattern into joists or the box. Countersink and fill.

6

Join the Halves

Butt the two halves at the seam, glue the joint, and fill the seam line with lightweight spackle before painting.
