Five Steps To Select The Perfect Ceiling Medallion

Five Steps To Select The Perfect Ceiling Medallion

The ceiling medallion is an often overlooked but essential part of a home’s interior design. It can be quite a dilemma to select the right one, especially with all of the different designs, shapes, sizes, and materials available on today’s market. That is why we have created this blog post for you! In it, we will discuss how to choose the perfect ceiling medallion and some of our favorite designs.

#1. Determine the style of your home

Choose a style that matches your interior design. For traditional designs, consider something with neoclassical elements. For contemporary design, go with something that is sleek and modern.

If your home has a traditional style or the ceiling medallion will be visible from the outside of your house (i.e., over an entry door), consider one of our beautifully crafted classical designs—we have many styles to choose from! Ceiling medallion budget

#2. How much is your budget for this project?

A ceiling medallion can range in price from $25-$1,000+ depending on size, material (urethane or plaster), and style. Consider which materials are best for your budget, as well as the other elements of design you want to incorporate into this space. If you have a large project with multiple ceilings, consider purchasing one less expensive but still looks great!

Some popular styles include:

French Country Medallions - these make a home feel more sophisticated and elegant by adding an old-world charm. They look like they could be found at Versailles or Buckingham Palace.

Traditional Medallions – These are perfect for traditional homes because they add a classic touch without being too overwhelming or outdated looking.

#3. What size medallion do you need?

White River Ceiling medallions are available in a wide range of sizes, from 6 inches for a smaller room to over 60 inches for large rooms with high ceilings.

Make sure to know how high off of the ground you want it before making this selection so that everyone in the room is comfortable with its proximity to them and their height relative to it when sitting or standing under it.

Steps to select the perfect size medallion:

  1. Measure the circumference of the light fixture. You want the medallion to be the same size or larger than your lighting fixture for larger rooms but for a smaller room the diameter should be smaller than the light fixture.
  2. Decide on a style preference, traditional or contemporary.
  3. Choose the size that corresponds with these decisions and the type of room and lighting fixture. (12" - 60").

Thank you for explaining that the style of your home will help you to determine what style of medallion you should choose. My husband and I have been wanting to add some more texture and interest to our home by adding moulding or even some medallions to our ceiling. I think we have a more traditional home so we can look for something with a little more detail. https://saguaromoulding.com/products/
