78 WT profiles — they have more SKUs than anyone else and their shape matching is tight. Seven of our profiles are dimensionally identical. Don't try to dismiss them. Instead, pivot immediately to the SWP system, species depth, and the fact that you have a rep who picks up the phone. Algoma sells through distributors; there's no direct relationship. If a customer quotes a WT number through Outwater, it's still Algoma — use the Algoma tab.

Good solid competitor across all four profile families. Their T383 and T676 are exact matches to TM101 and TM207. Watch out for T412 — it's a tapered shingle, not a flat bevel, and customers sometimes think they're the same thing. If someone says "I need something like the T412," ask them what look they're going for. Flat trapezoid = TM203. Tapered wedge = we don't carry that profile. No SWP companion system, and their species selection is narrower than ours.

12 profiles sold retail in standard 12×48 panels to consumers and small shops. Every single Osborne profile has a WR exact match. Their ceiling is what a homeowner can order online. Your floor is trade pricing, 21 profiles, custom lengths, and spec support. If a trade customer is cross-shopping you against Osborne, they're probably not a trade customer yet — use it as an opportunity to explain what the trade program actually gets them.

About 10 branded solid SKUs. We match or beat every one. The complication: Outwater also resells Algoma WT-series under their own fulfillment — so a customer might cite a WT number and think it's an "Outwater product." Always ask which line they're referencing. If it has a WT number, go to the Algoma tab. Their veneer MDF V-groove line (V1231, V1331, NEV-431) is a different product category we don't compete in — don't pretend we do.

Canadian manufacturer, 33 FTP profiles, 18 species — impressive catalog on paper. But everything is custom production with a 2–4 week lead time and no stock inventory. That's your close: "We ship from stock. What's your installation date?" On any project with a real deadline, AFE is a liability. Their slat widths don't match ours exactly (their FTP-111 and FTP-509 are 1-1/4" vs our 1-1/2") so the profile swap is close but not exact — call that out if they're spec-matching.

Three profiles, all 30mm, all real wood veneer on MDF. This is the Euro/Instagram aesthetic play — they show up in design-forward residential projects where someone saw a Danish hotel lobby and wants that look. You don't have a 30mm solid slat, so don't pretend you do. Instead: solid wood stains and accepts edge routing in ways veneer-on-MDF cannot. For commercial specs or anywhere exposed edges, staining, or custom finishing matters, solid wood wins. Lead with that. Also: Flutto has zero flat-panel companion system.
